I've Been Everywhere7
Next week, my company is having a mandatory training session. And to make it even cooler, the training site is going to be here in the metromess. This means that I wont have to get on an airplane next week!
Because my local office is "hosting" the training, all us metro engineers have been swamped - doing our normal job and planning the details the upcoming training.
Here is a little video that I put together over the course of a few nights. Its really a first attempt of setting a slidshow to music. I was inspired by the upcoming training class, but don't know if I will actually show this video. I was more insterested to see if I could actually create a chunk of media like this (30 megs, WMV windows media)

Better BBQ
This post is a bit belated. Back in the beginning of Feb, I decided to tear into the ol' BBQ pit and replace the burner. As with most of my home improvement projects, a little thing spawns other related proejcts.
The burner I wanted to put into the pit was not an exact fit. Actually, it didnt fit at all. Minor setback. Break out the dremel and cut away the innards of the pit that were in the way of the burner.
While I cutting on the pit, I noticed the wood trim (shelf and handle) were looking a bit ragged. The wood itself was in good shape, but the old black paint was flaking off and just looked tired.
After seatingthe burner, and lighting it up to burn off any oils, I turned my attention to the wood trim.
Rather than go with the basic black, why not something brighter. why not.... RED! Actually, its "Colonial Red". Its has a better look that pure garish red.
So, I took a quick picture. Yes, that ice on the pit. It was cold. But that doesnt stop me from cooking.

Google Maps!!!!
Oh man, oh man! I freakin love Google. They can do no wrong (so far). The are now doing maps! head to maps.google.com - most excellant presentation. Am still playing with it. But so far - A+

GreensKeepers has this little video that I am just fascinated with. I snarfed it from Spoon. He had it squirreled away in a super secret directory. But, because I'm not a bandwidth thief, I'll link it from tobic. QuickTime, about 9 megs.

Sound Artist
So, I was cruising the interwebby thingy and came across Kitudu. He calls himself a "sound artist". After looking through his site, I'll have to agree. He is much more of an artist than "musical artist" that is perputally pimped by Clear Channel. Check out his instruments (phonoharp).
