Samoa - Page 3
The beach at Coconuts.  Perfect tropical beach.
The cave pool again.  I had so much fun the first time, I went back. This time you can see the cave where the pool goes into. Notice all the kids - school had just let out, and I guess the local village kids come by for a quick dip.
Papasee'a Sliding Rock - A unique river formation in a deep valley.  the rocks are smooth with running water over them.  You wade into the river, sit down at the top and slide down the rocks.  The landing at the bottom was a little rough.
After spending nearly a week on Upolu (the main island of Samoa), the Kiwis and I headed out to Manono Island.

From the tour book:

"Manono, lying in the stretch of water between Upolu and Savai'i, is almost entirely untouched by modern society. There are no dogs, no roads, no vehicles and no noise on these islands. It's so quiet and peaceful that it makes Upolu look like a bustling metropolis. People live almost entirely in fales and enjoy a semi-subsistence lifestyle. Palagi are welcome on the island as long as respect is shown for the traditional way of life and an effort is made to help conserve the fragile eco-system through environment-friendly activities."

We showed up at the dock on Upolu, and caught the "school boat" the daily boat that brings the kids from Manono to Samoa for school.  There were sever beach fales that were available for rent.
