Plug in Cordless Drills

Cordless drills are so commonplace now, they barely merit attention in the sales flyers. "Buy 5 pairs of underwear, get a free cordless drill!" There was the voltage wars a few year back - they started at 9 volts, and have amped (pun intended) to 24 volts.

the problem I have with cordless drills - their battery is NEVER charged when you need it. Or worse yet, you *think* its charged, get about 60 seconds of run time before it dies. Aargh.

Here’s my idea: Make a cordless drill that can accept an extension cord! Use the battery for its life, then plug the tool in to continue working. Heck, it can charge the battery while you are using it.

What about the existing drills already out in the world? How about making some dummy batteries that have the voltage reduction parts inside? Plug in once side of the "battery", slide it into the drill - off you go!

Now, go to it! Need an example of how the electronics would work? Look at men’s electric shavers.. they already have the capability.
